SHOT LIST

GUIDE

Have you ever been to a wedding where the family photos took FOREVER??? I try SUPER hard to never let that happen, and by having a shot list - it completely eliminates that stress! Your big day should be about you guys, spending time with your loved ones, and having fun - you shouldn't be worried about taking photos foreverrrrr.

A shot list is mainly for family groupings, but it really allows me to know exactly what you want! If you have small details that I might not think about, put that on there too! (i.e. special dances, custom bar napkins, custom table numbers, etc.)

At every wedding I have a whole document that I check off, so having a list makes my job a little easier.

soo what's a shot list?

Normally I always do family + wedding party after the ceremony so you're not stressed out before the ceremony. After family + wedding party photos are done then it's time for the couples photos!

Please think about lighting! This always helps with timelines + shot lists. I recommend looking up a sun tracker when planning your ceremony if it's outside. If the sun is at it's highest peak you will have harsher lighting in your photos. For all family, wedding party + bride/groom pictures I'll figure out the best places for lighting!

It's important to know that your wedding shot list is only a guideline. Everyone's wedding day unfolds a little differently, so you might end up with slightly different (and lots more!) then what you imagine. But that's the beauty of what makes your day unique! And guess what - I'm here to help every step of the way!

Take a look at these to gauge an idea of what I need from you!!

Remember - please write out people's names! If you have an specific and unique things I might not see at every wedding, please put that on your shot list as well so then I don't miss it!

There's so many things I could say to you, but these are the best tips I have for you!!!
  • schedule your engagement session 4-5 months before your big day
  • have all of your details in one box for me if you want flat lay suite for your details
  • make a family shot list so family photos are a breeze!
  • Have a point person on each side of the family. This is someone that can help wrangle all of your family members when it comes to family photos!
  • Take breaks throughout the day. You only get ONE wedding day - take it in and enjoy it!!!
